Blurb-

True love can blossom anywhere, in a government set-up too, and can be as permanent as the job itself. Shalini, a government employee, strongly feels that there is no point in getting married and joining the brigade of abused wives. Till she is swept off her feet by Kartik, a dynamic colleague from Bihar. Just when her faith in the system of love and marriage is rekindled and at its peak, Kartik goes missing. Her search for him reveals some dark secrets about Zabaria Shaadi still existing in Bihar, where eligible boys are abducted or forced for marriage.

A love story at its core, Love Forever @ Rajpath highlights the predicaments of a girl on the verge of losing her most precious relationship. It also reflects the inner turmoil of a young boy sandwiched between age-old traditions and his own liberated opinions. Will Shalini be able to save her relationship? Will Kartik acknowledge her efforts or will he abandon her for the sake of his family?

Review-

Love Forever @ Rajpat is a simple love story in a government office background of a Bihari babu and a Dilliwali.

There are a lot of little-little things discussed in the book like mainly the Zabaria Shaadi system( new to me ), predicaments of a free girl regarding marriage, a girl in male dominant sector, problems faced in getting family support to convert love into marriage and the sterotypes, two types of family set up – one consertive and other liberal, importance of girl’s education, dowry system, prejudgement with respect to the place or caste you belong, work ethics and more for you to find and ponder.

The blurb was a bang on and i was expecting some suspense, more drama to it and a lot more focus on the Zabaria Shaadi system where it was a plain love story where the female lead who was not accepted by the male-party in first turns out to win their hearts with her graceful character which was not new but the presentation was something different; ” Approved …. As proposed” is a delight; their love in the style of their profession 😉

At the end of it is like an-old wine in new bottle; the bottle indeed to be appreciated for its creativity and i would like to suggest for a different light read.

This bottle of old wine is worth of 3.5/5 🙂
